Gears grind when shifting

Check the clutch adjustment. If it's not fully engaging it will be hard to shift into gears and it will give you the grinding sound. Buell's shift hard to begin. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/robert_5bac37c3cb991fdb

Where is the oil drain plug located

Behind the left passenger(rear) foot peg. there is two hoses in there, they have some plastic plugs in them, pull them both out and let them drain. After they stop draining. start filling the oil back up and plug them back up after the oil starts coming out again so you don't trap any air in the system.

Bike has been sitting for a year wont start

Hello if it sat for one yr. with fuel in the carb and i am assuming you already have charge or replaced battery. The carb / carbs will need to be cleaned because the low speed jet / jets are block with stale fuel ( old fuel tends to thicken to vanish like substance }

I need to add slack to my clutch on my 07 HD

yes that is true not enough freeplay for heat expansion will burn out your throw out bearing. so follow your cable down to your mid-range adjuster slide the boot up use 1/2 in.and 9/16 in. to loosen cable then remove clutch cover and loosen the lock nut 11/16 in. turn adjuster in until it lightly seats backoff 3/4 of a turn torque down 11/16 to 72 to 120 in.lbs replace cover at mid-range adjust until you have about 1/16 to 1/8 freeplay in cable pull in lever 3 times to reseat ball and ramp recheck freeplay pull boot back down. good luck

Voltage regulator on '02 Buell Blast

I don't have a manual yet so if anyone can offer any advice or point me toward an online wiring diagram or somethingI did it by ruling out my stator - knowing the rest - meaning plug wires and coil are good, check the connection of the regulator to the stator for elecrical flow at those two pins on the regulator side - there should be zero on both - current should only come from the stator, not to it - other wise you have bleeding - thus the regulator is bad - under your body above the rear tire on the left side you'll see a metal waffled box with wires heading out of it - thats the regulator,,,
