If the lights dimand the battery is known good, The starter is pulling too much of a load. Remove the starter and bench test with some jumper cables to see if it drags. If not, e engine is not locked up. Remove the spark plugs and tsee if it cranks over with the starter before pulling the starter.If it is humming, You have an excessive load. Good Luck, Ned

Sound like the oil ring on the piston are worn

Check your fuses. if they are all good - is the ignition switch good on it? Does the Check engine light turn on then off after a few seconds before you start the bike? If not the ECM could be bad.

Your headlight bulb is either bad or the connector at the back is loose.

Use the key in the ignition lock. The ignition and steering lock are the same switch on it.

The oil is stored in the swingarm on the 2004 XB12R. Warm the bike up, then check the oil level on the dipstick which is located on the left side of the swingarm.
