I have recently purchased this

You can contact BMW (in Germany) and they should be able to help you out. I recently bought http://www.amazon.com/Art-BMW-Years-Motorcycling-Excellence/dp/0760333157 or http://search.barnesandnoble.com/The-Art-of-BMW/Peter-Gantriis/e/9780760333150#PRFand it tells the story of Peter Nettesheim that collects and rebuilds older BMW's just like you plan to do.

1983 R100 A project bike I took on

Oil filter is on the right (starboard) front lower side of the engine case behind a plate with three fasteners holding it on. Strongly recommend using OEM filter as replacement. Strongly suggest you get with someone who has an "airhead" BMW and have them mentor you with the filter change process. Doing it IS easy. Doing it wrong can ruin you engine in short order.

Start sequence? "Choke" on, bike in neutral, clutch in, engine cut off switch in run position, turn key and use throttle as needed to keep it running. Have fun - great bike. Go to airheads.org for lots of info.

Break sound

Brakes make funny sounds sometimes, especially when they're only being lightly applied. Making the pad just barely contact the rotor leaves all sorts of room for vibrations to cause noises. Could be all sorts of things. If they work fine, and you have plenty of pad left, forget about it. If you really really want, you can take the pads off, clean everything off with brake cleaner, add brake lube to the backs of the pads, and put it back together and that will probably stop the noise.

Fuse for the headlights for 650 BMW 2008

On a 2008 BMW 650i, the fuse for the headlights is located in the fuse box under the hood. The specific fuse you need is Fuse #61, which is a 20-amp fuse located in the third row of fuses from the top. To access the fuse box, open the hood and locate the black plastic cover on the right side of the engine bay. There should be a diagram on the underside of the cover showing the layout of the fuses. Once you've found the correct fuse, you can use a fuse puller or a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove it from the fuse box. It's always a good idea to check the owner's manual for your specific vehicle to get the most accurate and up-to-date information on the location and function of the various fuses.

My 2003 BMW R1150RT won't start after it overheated, what would the problem be?

It depends on how hot it got and for how long? Holes in the pistons under the spark plugs. Burnt Exhaust Valves. Stuck Valves. First thing to do is to remove and visually inspect the spark plugs and then test for compression. Interesting reviews and on mentions burnt valves. https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-reviews/bmw/r1150rt/2001/ ..
