Were you Able to get the bike running I have the same issue

your fuel guage works on a resistance to earth via a rheostat which is what the fuel gauge is,so either the fuel gauge is faulty,the float in it which is fixed to a metal rod is bent or the wiring that goes to it is touching earth somewhere.i would suggest disconnecting the wiring from the gauge which will be on the fuel tank and see if the needle goes down if it does the gauge is faulty if it stays up the wiring is touching earth.hope this helps you.im a motorcycle mechanic by the way 25 years in the trade ;0)

If you are getting fuel in the oil it can only be coming from one place. The float needle valve in the carburator is sticking open causing fuel to flow from the carburator into the combustion chamber, past the rings and into the oil. The only fix is to remove the carburator, remove the float bowl and the float. Remove the needle valve and clean the needle seat. Inspect the needle valve tip to see of it is damaged in any way. Remember while you are inspecting the needle seat that the smallest of particles can cause your problem.

This could well be lack of oil in the gearbox or possibly a stretched belt which rubs on something when not under load
