Change battery in Stratoliner

You didnt say if it is a cruiser or street so here is both:
  1. Cruiser
    • 1 Remove the seat from your motorcycle. Turn the key to the "On" position and hold it there as you lift up on the seat to unlock it.
    • 2 Put on the gloves and the safety glasses. Remove the plastic cover on the battery compartment.
    • 3 Detach the cables connected to the terminals on the top of the battery. You can pull the cables off by hand. Remove the negative (black) cable first, then the positive (red) cable. Cover the negative battery terminal with black electrical tape.
    • 4 Lift the battery out of the compartment. Be sure not to touch the terminals to any metal components of the frame or the seat.
    • 5 Position the new battery. Connect the positive cable to the battery first, then the negative cable.
    • 6 Reattach the seat.
    Street Bike
    • 1 Lift or remove the seat on your bike. Use the ignition key to unlock the mechanism holding the seat in place. Depending on the model, tilt the seat back or lift it completely off the bike.
    • 2 Locate the two anchor bolts on either side of the gas tank. Unscrew the bolts using an Allen wrench. Hold on to both the bolts and the bushings on the underside of the bolts. The bushings prevent your gas tank from rattling during operation.
    • 3 Tilt your gas tank up to reveal the battery compartment. It is necessary to prop up the gas tank or have a helper hold it for you as you work on the battery.
    • 4 Detach the cables connected to the battery terminals. Remove the negative (black) cable first, then the positive (red) cable. Cover the negative battery terminal with black electrical tape.
    • 5 Lift the battery out of the bike, being careful not to touch the terminals to any part of the motorcycle or your skin.
    • 6 Position the new battery in the bike. Connect the positive cable to the battery first, then the negative cable.
    • 7 Reposition the gas tank and secure it by tightening the bolts.
    • 8 Close or reattach the seat

Installed hardkrome 2 into 1

When you change to a non stock exhaust system and add new electronics, the bike needs to be hooked up to a diagnostic machine to map out new fuel delivery to compensate for the changes. It's possible that one or more of the changes you made will not be compatible with your camshaft profile, or fuel parameters. You may even need to have the engine dyno'd to see what's happening with the torque and horsepower curves.

I have a 2002 Yamaha SR125 and my original Speedometer has packed in. Everything works apart from the mileage. Does anyone know how to wind the Clock back?

This is a highly ill - eagle act to do. In the old days we would put an electric drill on the drive cable, but now they make them tamper proof so they only go one way. The bezels are crimped on so you can't get inside them. I expect modern one may be electronic. How will your insurance company know what mileage you have done? I have never known an insurance cancel or fine due to mileage. You should have just disconnected it when you got close to the limit. Buy a used one and use them for 6 months in turns. There are two or three here 23K and one with 36k https://www.google.com/search?q=2002+yamaha+sr125+speedometer ..

Yamaha XT125X - I have just changed the fuel valve and put petrol in the tank. Now the engine won't start and the fuel light is on all of the time? Any ideas anyone please?

Make sure the fuel is getting to the valve and passing through it. Possible blockage in fuel line or in the tank.

Bought battery for Yamaha midnight star 1600 turn over slow and want crank 2000 model

First make sure that the new battery has been fully charged and is not defective. Next make sure that the proper voltage is reaching the started. You may have a bad post connection or loose connection at the starter. Try jumping you battery with another known good battery.

2005 Yamaha v star 650 losing power

What Exactly does the bike do when it 'loses power'? This will give clues as to where the issue could be. When was the last time the bike was given a major service? Sometimes it can be as simple as a dirty fuel/air filter or an old/worn or dirty spark plug.

1995 Yamaha Virago 535. It runs good for about 7 miles then starts backfiring?

  1. Fuel System Issues:
    • Check the fuel system for clogs, such as a dirty fuel filter or carburetor jets.
    • Ensure that the fuel tank and fuel lines are clean and free from debris.
    • Consider adding a fuel system cleaner to help clean out any deposits.
  2. Ignition System Problems:
    • Inspect the spark plugs for fouling, wear, or improper gap.
    • Check the ignition timing to make sure it's set correctly.
    • Inspect the ignition coils and wiring for any loose connections or damage.
  3. Air Intake and Exhaust Issues:
    • Examine the air filter for clogs or dirt that may restrict airflow.
    • Inspect the exhaust system for any leaks or blockages.
  4. Vacuum Leaks:
    • Check for vacuum leaks in hoses, gaskets, or intake boots. A vacuum leak can cause an improper air-fuel mixture, leading to backfiring.
