2009 Aprilia SR 50 R Factory Questions & Answers
2009 Aprilia SR 50R factory I put new pistion, rings gaskets and cylinder will not start only have 65 LBS of compression whats up this motor
65 lb compression doesn't sound very much but could be fairly normal on a fairly highly tuned 2-stroke at kickstart speed, especially if the piston, rings and bore are dry.
Exhaust tuning causes a 2-stroke engine to grow in capacity when it is "on the pipe" resulting in a sudden increase in compression ratio and pressure and so if this is not to cause devastating detonation the designer must make allowances and probably utilise electronic automatice timing retard. Starting with a lower compression ratio is another method.
Having said that I would have expected at least 100 psi pressure and probably a little more...
Assuming you checked the new cylinder thoroughly before fitting and ensured all the ports including the transfer ports are open and correctly line up with any ports or recesses in the crankcase and ditto with the base gasket...
Assuming you checked the piston size matched the new cylinder and the piston rings were correctly gapped prior to fitting...
These things should not be taken for granted and should be checked to ensure they are correct. Assuming you did these things and assembled everything correctly (especially getting the piston the right way around) with a smear of clean oil a good induction should be assured and the compression should be almost as good as it is ever going to be.
I suggest you ensure there is a good spark and fuel is reaching the cylinder. If it isn't I suggest you revisit the new parts you fitted and the way you fitted them before investigating anything else.
Good luck!
My aprila rs50 starts fine and runs fine cold but if it heats up abit you pull the throttle and it sounds like its dieng
Instructions

1
Park your RSV 1000R on a well-ventilated, level area, using its kickstand.
-
2
Start the engine and let it idle in place until the
temperature gauge built into the instrument cluster indicates a minimum
internal temperature of 180 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the motorcycle's
ideal operating temperature.
-
3
Take note of the engine idle speed, using the tachometer
needle, while the engine is running. Ideally, the engine should idle
steadily at 1,250 rpm.
-
4
Adjust the engine idle speed to 1,250 rpm, using the idle
adjuster screw hidden between the lower right edge of the fuel tank and
the upper edge of the right middle fairing panel. Turn the idle adjuster
screw clockwise to increase the engine idle speed, or counterclockwise
to decrease the engine idle speed, using a small flat screwdriver if
your RSV 1000R's frame (VIN number) precedes ZD4MEE009YS000292. A
plastic knob allows the engine idle speed to adjusted by hand on RSV
1000R models with a frame (VIN) numbers starting from ZD4MEE009YS000293.

5
Rev the engine two to three times and observe the
tachometer. The engine should return to a 1,250 rpm idle. Adjust the
engine idle speed as needed, using the method described, then rev the
engine again. Problems may exist within the throttle control,
fuel-injection system or engine, if the engine idle speed will not hold
steady at 1,250 rpm. Contact your local Aprilia service facility for
assistance.
-
6
Stop the engine, once you have obtained a steady 1,250 rpm idle speed.

Will not start Aprilia Mojito Custom
OK< can you provide more details? Does it turn over? Does it fire at all? Do you know if you have a spark? Do you know if fuel is getting through? Has it run properly recently?
To run, a motor needs fuel, air and spark
Inspect all fuel lines and wires. Pull the sparkplug and see if it is burnt/wet/corroded

I have installed a new ignition on y aprillia pegaso 2008 and it wont accept the code numbers
It's not the new switch, it's the new keys that have to be programmed.
The keys have uniquely coded chips in them, when you turn on the ECU uses the antenna that is by the ignition switch to look for a code that it recognises, you need to introduce the new key codes to the ECU.
This is what the manual says:
In case of installation of a new ignition switch the procedure is as follows:
Turn ON using new key
The dashboard will not recognise the key and will ask for the customer code: insert the customer code. It is 00000 when supplied. It can be changed to any numeric five digit number.
Now you can enter: MENU, DIAGNOSIS (insert the service code 25973),
Then select MODIFY KEYS and implement the procedure.
If you are not sure about the mode switch, this is what you do:
Use handlebar "mode" switch (left / right) to select "Menu" option on the screen, then press mode switch in to enter.
Use handlebar "mode" switch to select "Diagnosis", press to enter.
Use handlebar "mode" switch to enter the workshop code (25973).
When you have selected the digit you want then press in and it will move to the next digit etc.
You can't screw anything up, if you do it wrong go back or turn off and start again.
