The cup in the fuel tank where the fuel gauge sits has rusted and has pinholes that let the fuel leak where those wires come out. I had the same issue on my 1998 Road King Classic. Take out the fuel gauge and fill the rust holes with jb weld fuel tank repair putty,let it dry ,reinstall fuel gauge. DON'T PUT THE JB WELD ON TOO THICK!!!! It makes it harder to reinstall the fuel gauge.GOOD LUCK

A general rule on any engine is that it will be at the lowest point on the oil pan under the bike. I think on your bike it is on the underside of the pan. To find the bolt find the rear foot peg and move straight downwards. It is usually a hex head bolt with a hex hole in the bolt head for a hex key, (Allen key). I recommend using a socket to remove the bolt as it gives a better grip on the bolt. Clean the bolt and check the rubber 'O' ring it uses as a seal. If you are in Any doubt about it's condition Replace it anyway! They are usually cheap to buy. Clean the drain hole as well to prevent dirt getting into the oil pan. Once the oil has drained refit the drain plug bolt First, tightening it BY HAND. tighten to around 17 ft/lb. DO NOT over tighten as this will strip the threads on the bolt AND the drain plug hole, (an expensive fix!). Do this Before changing your oil filter and refilling the oil. The bike needs to be fully upright to do an oil change so make sure it is securely mounted on a bike lift or a pit lane stand.

You need to make sure kill switch is not OFF! Then a 1, good hot battery. 2 good ignition switch. 3 NEW spark plugs. 4. Good ignition coils. 5. good ignition(source coil, pickup coil,. Usually takes a professional with the proper tools to diagnose ignition system problems!!

Carb needs ajusting. Check utube or pinterest or buy a haynes or clymer shopbook for harley or eagle. Try setting throttl lever highr before it dies if not fuel inject

This will depend on the year, model and trim options fitted to the bike. They will be held on in one of 3 ways. A Hex ('Allan Key') bolt, a Torx head bolt or an 'External' Circlip (snap ring). Could you comment below with a photo of both sides of the pin? You will need a specific tool for each of these.The tools are cheap and easy to get. The bolts unscrew like any type of bolt. You might need to hunt out the longer Hex and Torx tools. The Circlips need a set of pointed grips you use to ease the clips ends apart to slip it off the pin. The pin should then push all the way through and out the other side of the mount.

If you have a fuel tuner, bypass it to see if the issue resolves. If so, download a fresh map and try it again. If the problem returns call tech support for your fuel tuner manufacturer, it likely needs to be replaced.

What you are describing is a security system that prevents the bike from starting. My Harley had a FOB that went with the key, without it the bike wouldn't start. It was like the security key on cars. If you have one and your battery is dead, that would be the problem. You could jump the starter relay to see if the bike starts for you. If so then I'm pretty sure you are dealing with a security chip/FOB issue. Best of luck:)
