check your connections you could have it hooked up backwards or forgot to connect a wire that is off to the side that you missed. and if you bought a new battery and had to fill the water yourself. it will need to be charged

Yes it sounds like it. You should never ride with the clutch held half way as it is likely to make the plates slip and create heat. If you did that to stop the noise, it is likely something to do with the clutch actuator that has failed.

..Videos showing how you get to the clutch. Your plates and springs are probably okay. The only way to see that is wrong is by getting in there.

It appears to be a known issue. There is no 6 speed gearbox. one suggestion is a taller rear tire to increase its rolling circumference.

Yes, you may be getting too much air as the filter does provide some resistance.
The most likely reason though is that something wasn't put back correctly in the carb cleaning, especially, slide, needle, jet and mixture screws..
Loosen the handle bar adjustment a lot, .then take a little slack out of the cable at the engine connection, then re-adjust the handlebar lever with a bout 1/8" play
Check your oil level. They have safety sensor to shut you down when too hot. also when was your last oil change and did you use proper good quality oil with proper viscosity?
