What is causing a loud noise in the engine?

A loosening connecting rod, it happened to me with a Matchless, and it pushed right through the crankcase while riding.

I got on my 2007 m50 to go for a ride ,turned the key and get nothing ,fuses sre good

Is the battery good? Try the headlight while you crank the engine (I don't know what an m50 is so...) If the headlight goes dim or out when you crank, the battery is shot, has a bad ground, or connection to the starter. The starter relay, ignition circuit to the relay etc. could be faulty. Pull on the wires while you crank, sometimes that helps identify the problem.

F1 sign appears

Fill the gas tank SOON or you will be pushing the machine. That is an indication that the gas tank is almost empty.

How to get a motorcycle to start after sitting for

If it was stored like most people store them the carburators are probably full of varnish. You can start by tearing them down and soaking them, I use laquer thinner to soak them and it really works good. Don't leave it on plastic or rubber parts as it will eat into them. While carb. parts are soaking, take out the plugs put a little oil in the cylinders and crank it over a couple times. Put the spark plugs in the wires and ground them to the head and see if you have spark when you crank it over. If you have spark good, if not the points, or electronic ignition will have to be looked at. Take the point cover off and clean the point contacts. Blow out the carburators, paying peticular attention to the jets (orfices) if they are not completely cleaned out it could cause you to burn a piston after you get it running. That is the most of it I could sit here and write a book, but I am assuming that you know to put gas in the tank, put a battery in it etc.

Why is the Oil light not turning on?

The oil in the engine is there for lubrication not noise suppression. Bad bearings and tappets will make a noise no matter how much oil they are in. Obviously a low oil level is not the reason of the engine noise.

Fi light on will not

FI stands for Fuel Injection. The fuel system sensors have detected a problem. It could be anything; a dirty air filter restricting airflow, a plugged injector, an error in fuel mapping, any number of things. Serious problems can trigger the computer to prevent the engine from starting until the problem is fixed. You will need to take the bike to a dealer to have them plug in a code reader. The code reader will tell you exactly what problem has been detected. There is also a chance a sensor has gone bad and is giving a false signal. Keep that in mind. Now determine if you want to do the fix or have the dealer do it. Please rate my answer.

I really don't have a problem. I'm a new rider and

The correct information should be in the owners manual, the person selling the bike should be able to tell you the correct sequence, and most modern motorcycles have the shift pattern imprinted in tiny raised pictures on the case right next to the shifter. I am pretty sure Suzuki and some British bikes used down 4 patterns in the late sixties . Your friends may be pulling your leg. I would bet money that the boulevard uses a down 1 up 4 shift pattern standard to most models on the market today.
