Sounds like a neutral switch relay problem....check your relays and fuses..........

Try unplugging the Handle Bar Kill Switch.....Sounds like the CDI is grounded.....Make sure the Pick Up wire from the Engine case is plugged into the wiring harness...This is what triggers the CDI to fire the Spark Plug........

What do you mean by overloaded? Do you mead too high of RPM's? Floating the valves can result in the valves hitting a piston and bending one of them or worse.

Try looking at the main fuse (30amp) on the starter solenoid. Make sure handlebar run switch is to on position - we all do it! and also check battery connections are tight - especially the negative lead.

From a dealer or Canadian Tire, or a parts place , maybe Walmart.

Has it been sitting any good length of time? If so you may need the carburetors cleaned. Also check the air filter and airbox to make sure theres no critters or mouse nests clogging the intake.

You need 3 thing to fire, air spark and fuel, can you smell fuel at the exhaust tip ? That lets you know you have fuel. Air is a bit trickier to check, but normally it would start or at least fire up and splutter to a stop which would then point to carb needing checked for a blocked jet.

Look on the Neck.
Also sometimes it is located under the gas tank.

I can't tell you how you completed the wiring, but try a local Kawasaki dealer or contact Kawasaki for the service manual.

if you want to know the bike is getting enough oil it must produce white smoke via exhaust ,most of these 1974 bike do not have knob for oil adjustment but you adjust manually by adjusting the oil cable

You must have some free play in the cable or you will damage clutch. Why won't rod lock in correctly? Did you have cover off?

While it is possible there is bad battery connections or a relay your description is typical of a discharged battery or likely a battery with a bad cell. Remove and charge the battery and hope that is the end of your problem but if it isn't, replace the battery.

best way to tune this is to reshape the inlet port from a circle to a wedge shape as it has a rotary valve and put a decent expansion chamber on it.
