That's liquid-cooled? The problem sounds VERY much like water or coolant getting into a cylinder.

Your clutch basket is the link between the engine and transmission. Your kick starter rotates the clutch basket gear, which turns another gear at the engine crank. Remove either the basket or gear at the crank and see if the engine, and the transmission both turn. Sounds like the engine is stuck for some reason. At least you can cut the issue in half.

Yep, lube lube lube. Take your throttle grip off and lube up your cables. Check for quick return while it is apart. Now make sure the grip is not rubbing (common problem), and just move it out till it is free, lube and tighten it back up in this position. If that doesn't work check for worn out cables? Good luck.

the dealer or user manual will have the correct oil to use simply call the service dealer and ask what oil is used that way you get the right information

check the carb float level and mixture settings

could be a faulty spark plug or the wrong one.

could be as simple as water in the fuel. kick starter issue: need to remove side cover and inspect!

Near the throttle body there is two nuts on both cables one is your throttle and the other is your return cable check to see if the return cable is in its cable seat if it is not you will have to reseat it but if both cables are seated correctly you will have to losen both lock nuts on both cables once you have done this twist your throttle to the idel position and hold there tighten both cables and lock nuts and this should fix your problem

Remove air cleaner and look at throttle body butterfly valve. Ck that it is moving with the throttle, if not fix or replace cables.

Rad cap might be bad or bike overheating try a 50/50 water to antifreeze mix or thermostat

All the signs are that the engine has siezed, could be costly Im afraid

i have a 2009 ktm 450 sxf and was riding yesterday and it stalled out when i switched to fourth gear and wont start back. battery is good and when i hit the e start it just clicks once, and it wont roll start either. any suggestions? could it be the switch under the tank? PLEASE HELP!

have u touched or changed your cam chain tensionor, if the tensionor is worn out it makes that ticking noise... try calling ur local dealer. a tensionor is about $45
