1989 Kawasaki ZX 10 clutch lever master cylinder jams up
...??.. the bore that the plunger rides in may be worn to the point of allowing it to bind... its a wear related thing..your bike/master cylinder IS 28 YEARS old...
Do a full master cylinder rebuild..if it does not fix it.. think about a NEW master cylinder..(a used one is NOT ok)..
Kawasaki zx10 1989 has been standing for 10 years.
There could be other things involved.
- Have you checked the tank and the fuel valve for crud. It should have a screen on the valve and it may have crud or rust stopping it up.
- The tank valve will have to be removed from the tank to check the screen.
- Have you checked the valve settings - clearance..
- Spark plugs.
- Spark plug wires and spark.
- Compression, does she have good compression?
- Timing?
1987 kawasaki ninja zx10 wont stay running when warmed up it
you didnt mention anything to do with the carbs so try some "Sea foam".... purchase at Autozone ($10) pour 1/3 can to two gallons fuel and drive it around for a good 10 to 15 miles and get on it once in awhile, ride safe..if the carbs are dirty or clogged... they wont be after your ride..there might be a little hesitation your first couple of miles till it starts to work..it took my bike 10 miles before it cleared out..bump start your bike if you have to to get it going and keep it going till it clears up.
How do i get a 180 tyre to fit my zx10 1989
you need zzr1100/d rear wheel and all spacers, get whole wheel if poss. you also need rear shock from d or c zzr1100. this will bring bike back to ride hight. play with spacers and away you go, makes it little bit nippy.
My zx10b keeps stopping after riding a few miles
Drain the carburetors. There should be a screw on the lower side of each carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Any water in the gas? Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ). Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carbs to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plugs and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetors from the engine.
FOR EACH CARB > Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the two screws on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well.

Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two screws down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each screw one and one half turns outward. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.

I have a Kawasaki 1988 ZX10 and there is a flat
If the problem is worse when warm then it may be rich.
try new oil, plugs and new air filter first.
also check for a flooding carb or leaking fuel tap, or bad diaphram in the fuel tap
clean the carbs, adjust the valves
if it still has problems then lower the needles 1 notch
keep notes on changes so you can change it back if there is no improvement or its worse
dyno jets may help if the jetting wrong or the exhaust has been altered from standard, but its not a miracle cure and wont help the starting on 3 cylnders problem which may be related
