Fill fluid on bars ride half mile will not change gears out of fluid not leaking out side of bike

It's probably leaking internally at the slave cylinder.

The odometer/speedometer input is seized on my instrument cluster, what should I do?

I would replace it with an eBay guaranteed working unit with similar mileage reading, and replace the speedo cable for good measure. All the best!

Shift lever

Possibly the lever's locking bolt thread has stripped or the thread on the bolt is worn. Another aspect is the splines in the lever are shot and/or the splines on the gear change shaft are badly worn. Remove lever and check the splines on both shaft and lever also check around the lever fixing section for any cracks. Check the threaded section of the lever with a brand new bolt the bolt should be easy to turn in and out by finger and should have no side to side play. When refitting the existing lever or a new one make sure the lever is a good fit on the gearbox shaft splines before you tighten the bolt.

Motorcycle acts like it is running to hot

you may have an air lock try opening your rad cap when cold and running your bike @ idle to circulate out air and ?or you may have an overheating problem caused by your fan not coming on and worse case scenario your engine has lean issues or lack of oil causing the engine to overheat

1998 kawasaki 1500 vulcan slave clutch bleeder valve

The clutch bleeder is behind the left engine cover, you will have to remove the left exhaust from the head and also the left front foot peg in order to get it off should be about 5 bolts holding engine cover on dont worry its just a cover no oil leakage from that side, then it will be down just above the frame, it will have clutch hose going to it.. to Bleed it remove cap on leftside handle bar make sure fluid level is 3/4 fulll hold clutch lever in then open valve, let air out then close valve release clutch lever, should fix if not repeat bleeding until you have good pressure on clutch lever, dont let fluild get to low . once pressure is good refill and put cap back on. put bike back togather and RIDE good luck

Will not start

  • Mate have you checked the battery and cleaned all lead ends. Even a new battery is sometimes be defective, have you got a mate with another battery to install to test to see if it is battery!
  • I would try that first if bike runs with another battery then you will know. Cheers

Gas in my battery compartment

Many bikes have a fuel overflow at the fill opening at the tank. So excess fuel can drain to the ground. This is done with a tube that comes from the rear of the tank (close to the seat) and routes down under the frame to the ground. If that tube is routed to your battery box then you have a safety issue. Make sure you do not have this drain tube/hose routed to your battery box. I am sure you don't want a fire under your seat.
