Question edited heavily and to add maker. Question moved from Cars and Trucks to model category. This is a 4 stroke engine and gasoline doesn't freeze, only diesel goes syrupy. The most likely reason would have been condensation and damp causing the spark to short out. Another possibility might be old gasoline? Engines only need three things to run Fresh clean fuel. sounds like a choke issue to me.

I think on the CTX models it is a fixed seat so you will have to find all the bolts and screws that hold it onto the bike frame. It isn't designed as a 'lift off' access seat. Most of the access to fuse panel, battery (Right side) and air filter (Left side) is through the side covers on the bike. These covers are held in place with a single bolt/screw and swing out and down to remove them.

NC29 CBR400RR-J (1988) is this the year? the service manuals are sold on lline buy it like we do. it pays for its self so is free, after 1st use ! and the manual bests 1000000 internet rumors. ok its old and will need lots of work not just cam chain timing. (guides bad too)

Relays have 4 contacts if it is a relay and can be tested. The torque specs for a 2002 Honda Shadow 750 head bolts are:

1. Tighten all bolts in a criss-cross pattern starting from the center to 22 ft-lbs.
2. Tighten all bolts in the same pattern to 43 ft-lbs.
3. Tighten all bolts in the same pattern to 47 ft-lbs.
4. Tighten all bolts in the same pattern to 51 ft-lbs.

It's recommended to use a torque wrench to ensure accurate tightening.

Sounds like you have clogged or semi-clogged main jets in the carbs. You will have to remove the carbs and open them up to get to the jets. Remove the jets and clean them. Make sure you can see thru them before re-installing the jets.

How about the anti-theft system and immobilizer? Did you disconnect the battery recently?

You will want a 1/8 to 1/4 inch free-play at the perch on the handle bars.

moved yah out of cars to MC cranks ok , not told cranks and not starting is check fuses first. 125cc you meant sure, engine size TINY./ 68 plate jargon means zero outside UK, are you.? MC all have a real year. the VIN code on all ours USA back to 1965 has year code. The pick-up module located on the stator is on its way out. That is normally the symptoms right before they stop working.
