HALL EFFECT SENSOR ON BMW RT
Your question is not complete.I can answer the questions if they are complete.I have previous experience replacing Hall Effect Sensor.(Source:

I bought the new unit from beemer boneyard. I initially ordered the wrong part number and the plug was incompatible. I got really good service on getting the right one ordered and returning the wrong one for credit.
It's not the lowest cost option but worked well for me.
I also built my own timing light for about $12 of radio shack parts. Worked like a champ.
What repairs can be anticipated on a bmw r1150rs motorcycle with 85k miles?
85k is nothing for these engines, it the rest of the cycle parts that may have issues:
Check the clutch does not slip.
check the gearbox selects all gears. A little whine is ok,, but no jumping out of gear etc
check around the final drive,, shaft tunnel up to the back of the gearbox for oil leaks.
a good test ride is essential, and I would recommend joining one of the numerous BMW forums for more help. Ignore the other answer.
