Black Smoke is too much fuel, Blue Smoke is Oil and White Smoke is Coolant. Sounds like the Catalytic Converter is burning itself out because of too much fuel.

Sounds like a bad Idle Control Valve, have it scanned and see for sure.

Check your Transmission Fluid first. Also have it Scanned to find out what the Light is about. You could have a Faulty Speed Sensor on the Transmission.

If that is the T5 Engine you are going to need a Special set of Tools that hold the Cams, Sprockets and Crankshaft before starting on the seals if you are going to separate the Cam Cover from the Cyl. Head. I have done it with out the Tools but I do not recommend it. The PCV System you will have to pull the Injector Rail and the Intake Manifold to get to it.

Every volvo V40 vehicle has it's own code for the radio.

You will need to talk to a volvo dealer to get the code for your radio and hope they have kept the records in their system that far back.

A lot of the newer Volvo and Ford cars have Electronic Accelerator / throttle pedals fitted which play up when worn. Many complete Accelerator pedals are compatible with the Ford Focus cars in the UK.

Go to your local volvo dealer with proof of ownership, Reg docs in the UK and they should be able to provide you with the code as long asit is the original radio fitted

You have low oil pressure. Remove the oil pan and replace all the internal and external orings

Weird one - have you tried resetting the error and seeing if it comes back? If not, good. Temporary hiccup. If it comes back, maybe source a used/no error SRS module and swap out with yours and see what happens. The codes are recorded in the SRS module so a good one will have no codes. Alternatively, it might be corrosion in one of the wiring looms - if you can trace out the wires (and ohm them out) going through the door to the car, the problem might be in there too. The SRS module is allegedly easy to swap with four bolts and 20 minutes to spare. Depending on how cheap they are to get, that could be worth a shot. It should be on the end of the Fuel Rail feeding the Injectors.

I would start with the fuse Box .

LOOKS LIKE YOU DO HAVE A VACUUM LEAK. CHECK ALL THE VACUUM HOSES ON THE ENGINE.

Did you check the fluid in the battery. Level ok? But the more worrying thing is the voltage regulator is not working properly anymore. Check the manual, to see at what voltage it should stop and measure if it does.
