Most euro cars are high tech enough to reset themselves after a component is replaced. How ever some like Mercedes require a reset with a scanner.

Has the blub been tested? Have you checked the headlight connector for power (12 volts) and a good ground (less than 5 Ohms) when it is turned on? Do that and get back to me

Check vacuum leaks and fuel injection system

What year and what engine capacity is your volvo? Try putting in as much information as possible when asking a question, in that way you will get answers pretty soon.

If we're talking about an automatic transmission, your symptoms indicate a valve body problem. The transmission control module or a shift solenoid inside the transmission can be faulty too.

My volvo s40 2007 mode display check engine.I have send to the mechanic .but it diplay again.Please tell me what to do.

Check battery voltage while trying to start car.  May need new battery.  Since you just bought the car the battery may be weak from sitting at a car lot for a while.
