Need the radio code for 1996 volvo 850.

Yes. Call a dealer.  If they tell you that you have to come in person or want to charge you then call another.  Even search for dealers over the internet.  Most will give it to you over the phone, a smaller portion will want to either charge or make you come in person.  Again, if that happens just call another dealer.  If the radio is original, you can just give them the VIN.  If you suspect it isn't or if the code they give you doesn't work then you need to pull the radio and gave them the serial number on it.

How do I know if I have a CD player in my Volvo

Apparently you do not have a CD changer connected to your radio and that is why you get an error when you press the CD button. However sometimes it's an error code and means that you need to reenter the code for the radio. Is there a place to put in a CD? If so, here's a link to some info on your radio and entering your code.

Good luck!

I did an oil change on my Volvo 850 turbo, added 4 quarts of oil and it does not show on dipstick

You need more oil. Add until it says it is full or in the full range. Also make sure you oil plug is tight on the oil pan.

Shaking in reverse

I read you other post. A motor or transmission mount may cause vibration throughthe whole car. However, it will not cause the delay you described in going into reverse. If you want to know if you have a bad motor mount all you have to do is get someone to help you and watch the motor mounts when you put the thing in gear (both forward and reverse) and brake-torque the engine a little. If the mount is broken, you will see the break when it comes up under load.Otherwise, it sounds to me that you are describing an internal transmission problem.

Where and what does the reset switch for the 1996Volvo 850 lookslike

Volvo 850 (1993-1995) Service Light Reset Under the hood there are 2 diagnostic units (labeled A and B on the cover) next to the washer reservoir. 1. Turn on the ignition and open diagnostic unit A. 2. Locate the flylead (the test wire that is in the plastic holder). 3. Insert the flylead into socket 7. 4. Press the large round test button on the diagnostic unit 4 times, briefly but firmly. 5. When the LED flashes and then stays lit, it will accept the reset code. 6. The reset code for the service light is 1-5-1. 7. Press the large round test button firmly one time and then release it. The LED should be lit. 8. Press the button firmly 5 times and then release it. The LED should be lit. 9. Press the button firmly one more time and then release it. The LED will flash several times. 10. Turn off the ignition switch and replace the flylead in its holder and close the cover. The Service Light has now been reset.

96 volvo 850 won't start and horn and turn signal chirp on and off

My wife ran into this problem one day when she came out of a store. Turns out the car alarm had been set off in her absence, and the alarm system had immobilized the car. The solution was to simply use the remote (rather than the key) to unlock the car. That cleared the immobilizer, and she started it up and drove off.

Can we disconnect turbo?

if you remove the turbo from that car, the car will not run very well because the computer is setup to run with a turbo device, it need the air flow to force the fuel where it need to go. after removing the turbo you are going to have fuel issue, stay running, be fore you buy it go to the owner ask if they would mind if you or them disconnect the belt from the turbo charger and restart the car, see how well it runs, try and drive it, if every thing works okay, than buy the car and leave the belt off the charger.

Damp and wet conditions cause volvo 850 to misfire

Very possible bad ignition wires/cap/rotor. Replace them and the plugs first and the problem will probably go away.

1994 volvo 850 2.4l engine turns over but will not start only happens when cold

Is the check engine light on? Check for fault codes first. Sometimes these engines had issues with carbon build up and poor starting cold. Run a bottle of Techron thru the tank and see if it gets better.
