Yes. if the axle is bad and binding it can cause the front end to vibrate because it gets out of balance.

SOURCE: front end shaking and squilling and eating tires

You need to take your van in for a front end alignment and the problem will appear right away, may just need adjustment but also it may need work.Have the repairs made because it sounds like your van is unsafe to drive in it's present condition.

SOURCE: when driving over 40mph front end shakes badly

Good Morning, I can imagine it is a bumpy ride after you do that. Normally with normal wear and tear the front suspension gets worn and it could be anything from a tie rod end to shocks or springs, and could even be ball joints there ae so many moving pieces up front what I would recommend is taking it in and getting a front end inspection done by a local garage and they can pinpoint which piece or pieces it is. Hope this helps, and if youhave any questions please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Joey

When i drive it it shakes really bad it has new tires and have hade them balensed severl times

The front end of the vehicle has several parts that cause the front end to shake. Have you had the front end checked for bad tie rod ends, That is the most common problem.Another thing when does it shake? If it shakes while applying the brakes it could be the rotors need to be turned or it could be both the tie rod ends or the rotors.

Steering wheel violently shakes.

that is usually caused by bad engine mount this condition usually changes the distance of the cv joint and the differential which cause the cv joint to shake. also check your ball joints.
