I turn the key in my 2001 Ford Focus and all I get is one click, and all of the dashboard lights go dim. Found battery to be fine, some other problem. Any suggestions?

2001 focus won't start. Replaced battery. Turn key and won't start.no clicking sounds no sound at all in fact

dead battery? do lights work? 12 volts at battery terminals? If yes, clean terminals. If lights work, may need starter.

start by checking the connections to the starter, then check for sighanl from ignition to starter, nothing to do with ecm

check your battery for cold crank AMPS if battery is fine check positiv cabel from battery to alternator they are common problem on this vehicles

2001 Ford Focus won't start

Did you check the fuse box. The one in the engine compartment and in the dash board on the drive side.
to see if you blow a fuse.
Also is you security light flashing

a loose or damaged wire is causing a short circuit!
you ned to get it tested & rectified by a auto electrician ASAP!
as wiring gets very hot & can destroy your vehicle! {catch fire]

No turnover at all

sorry without having the jam jar in front of me to look for the faults iam only assuming the timing belt has broke but it could be something else so i would suggest calling out a mobile mechanic or towing vehicle to ford main dealer

Yes!
only two things left to do
1.- Clean and tighten battery ports (+ , -)
2.- ask for someone to help you, while you are trying to start it someone else give a few hits to starter, if second step helps to start it then it is the starter, hope this helps good luck!
