if the dealer already changed one side and its fine i would go back and let them do the other side cuz then the parts and labor would be under warranty
there is a place called silverstar recycling in california that deals in mercedes. they will have this for you and will ship. i have done alot of business with these guys. it iwww.fresnosilverstarrecycling.coms simply called an engine cover.
This system does not work like a conventional system. i have seen this problem many times and it has alwya been theblinker switch input. replace the blinker switch.
computerized oil indicator is only way if no dipstick. turn key halfway on... toggle through steering wheel buttons until check oil function. computer only checks if engine is off for a few minutes. this is for a 2005 cdi e320, might work for you.
it's time to go to the shop.
oil service
cabin filter
air filter
probably tire rotation
tune up either check up or perform.
do not go to a cheap place it will cost you lots more.
inspection of suspension, fluids, lubrication.
probably brake fluid flush.
probably coolant flush
possibly tranny service
Hi,
If the light came on before you changed pads, you will need to replace the sensor.
The sensor consists of only a wire link embedded in a hard plastic. This is worn through when the pads are nearly worn out.
To check which sensor it is, it's easier to unplug the sensor, and check with a continuity checker. If there is no continuity, you need to replace it.
Thanks for using Fixya! If this solves the problem, please rate as such. Thank you.
