2004 vw jetta won't start and the malfunction light is on. This has happened and we tak it to the shop, they can;t find the problem and then the Jetta starts up. It may be months, weeks of a few days and it'll happen again. When turning the key, the headlights will come on, but to starter noise is present. In fact, there is no noise

I know that some european cars have an "immobilizer" as part of their anti-theft system that frequently malfunctions in this way. Have it swapped out if your car has such a module. An independent shop may be better for this. There's a relay called "Relay 109" that may cause this also-it's only in Jetta TDIs.Here is part of a post from a dissatisfied owner if you continue having problems:I had TWO of these bought back by Yugowagen and you can do the same-WITHOUT an attorney!! I had the 2 cars for six months and over 12K miles total and was not charged a dime for use!! They gave me the cash I paid in, the value of my trade, and the amount of the payments made, and paid off the loan balance!! Hopefully this number is still good- I've posted it several times on this site and it might have been changed. Contact Jason Tosetti at VWOA at (248) 754-3787. His FAX number is (248) 754-6504. Jason is the VW drone that handled my cases. Also, another dissatisfied VW owner had posted the number of another VW exec somewhere on this site. And yes, the Volvo V40 has been FANTASTIC!! If the S40 sedan and V40 wagon still have the $4K incentive you can get a killer deal!! My car stickered for $29,385 and I got it for $23,500 !! And the car is a much more refined vehicle than the Yugowagen! Good luck!! And, by the way, VW DOES offer loaner cars-the dealer must call the district office to get it authorized which is no problem. I had 5 loaners during my 6 month nightmare.

Why won't my 2004 Jetta vw 2.0 start up after I

Jump starting a cpu controlled vehicle by the incorrect use of the cables will damage the cpu unit by the surge of current that is delivered to it. Have the cpu check out. It is not a matter of positive to positive and negative to negative as it was with older cars.

05568 mil request signal active check tcm for error. P1624 not a plausible signal

First off, let's simply define the OBD-II Trouble Codes:
Yes, 18032/P1624/005668 are the three codes that indicate "MIL Request Signal Active."
So, what does THAT mean (in plain English)??? This means that Fault Codes are stored in the TCM. SO WHAT'S THE SOLUTION?

Hi! I've had a 2004 VW Jetta since last November (had 39K on it). It has worked perfectly throughout the winter and spring. Not that it's summer, I've had a small intermittent problem: after...

POSSIBILITY HERE IS THAT THE FUEL PUMP IS ACTING UP. THE REASON IS BECAUSE WITH THE WARMER TEMPERATURES THE PUMP HAS TO WORK MORE AND THIS WILL CAUSE IT TO MALFUNCTION

2004 Jetta: my check engine light is on in my car im not sure ...

VW's somehow got around disclosing what the check engine lite codes mean to anyone except a VW Dealer. Therefore, to eliminate another service charge from a local repair shop I recommend you take the vehicle to VW and have them scan the vehicle's ECU for codes and do the repair accordingly.

Volkswagen jetta 2003

sounds like an electrical short or malfunction. this is a dealer only issue that VW knows best to solve. Check with your dealer to see if any recalls are on your vehicle and take it to them for repairs. Most local shops don't know enough about VW's to work on them accurately. I know this from experience of owning one myself years ago. Trust NO ONE BUT THE DEALER WITH YOUR VW.
