I noticed my ac in my 2004 Corolla with 138,000 miles wasn't blowing as cold in recent months. I've never had the AC serviced in the 8 years I've owned it. So I used one of those 12 ounce self adding freon cans with the charging hose attached. I followed the directions and within 5 minutes the can was empty & my AC recharged. The very next day while driving to work in 95+ temp, around 20 minutes into my commute I felt the cold air start to fade and within a few minutes the AC started to blow warmer air? Needless to say the remainder of my commute was a hot & sweaty one. After my shift at work I ran the AC again for a minute and it did blow cold air again. But I did not run it further in fear of damage to the AC system. Did I overcharge my AC or did I exceed the compression rate? How do I fix?

If this was happening to me.... I'd goto an airconditioning re-gas centre and get them to check for gas leaks. In my old commodore the Evaporator Core was leaking and causing some of the issues you have mentioned.

1993 Toyota Corolla Dx: driving over labor day weekend, had the AC on for longer than i've normally had it on and noticed water on my passenger side floor mat. Then i looked and it was leaking from...

The drain on your evaporator core housing is most likely plugged. Condensation on the evaporator core drips down into the plastic housing and drips onto the ground through a hose on the firewall on the
passenger side.

Find the small hose on the firewall in the engine compartment. You should be able to pull off that
hose and see if its stopped up. If the hose is ok, you may need to remove some of the ac ducts
under the dash to get to the evaporator core housing to unclog the drain hole.

I have no doubt that thats the problem.

My 2004 jaguar x-type ac is not working. the temp gauge inside shows that the ac is on, but nothing is blowing out of the vents. Please advise

check freon level first. You should hear the compressor clutch kick on under the hood when you turn it on. Can you hear and see it come on and start spinning the compressor?

My ac in my 2006 saturn ion blows cold air when its under 80 degrees outside but when its over 80 degrees it will blow warm air sometimes and cold sometimes what could be wrong with it

You likely need to charge the AC with freon. If it has been a year or three since you've had it checked, it is probably low on freon and needing to have some added.

I have a 2004 Lincoln LS 3.0. I recently had the AC compressor replaced. I would drive for about 100 miles then a fuse would blow. I took it back in to the dealer and they replaced the DCCV and various...

sounds like you have a wire rubbing against metal and blowing the fuse. look in owner's manual and see if the a/c fuse only powers the a/c compressor. if it does the bypass the wire with one ran from the compressor to the a/c fuse and drive vehicle to see if it blows again. if it has other things powered by the fuse then check all the wires for rubbed or broken areas.

Your AC system is supposed to shut down if the engine is hot, as a safety device-make sure when the ac is running , the radiator fan is blowing-it may not be, caused by either a bad relay, blown fuse or a bad fan motor. Make sure your antifreeze is fully up to level, and if you haven't done it in the past 2 or 3 years, get the cooling system serviced with a new thermostat-cheap insurance, you do NOT want to overheat that aluminum engine, because if you do, it will be toast.
