My car is stuttering when I get the car over 60 miles then it stutters and when I release my footoff the pedal for one second and go slow and then press the pedal slowly and try to get the car to go faster. Some times when I am on the highway it will continue to run good. Last week I installed a Camshaft sensor and I thought that it was the problem but it problem, so I would like some answers of what it could be please.

SOURCE: Intermittently have to use charger to start.

the most common cause of this by far is lights left on by defective switchs, these include the map lights in the visors, the glove box light due to a defective switch, the trunk light and the hood light if equipped, check it at night and look for a faint glow, the other much less common cause is the alternator has a defective diode and allows a small current to pass to ground drawing the battery down..

hi

your fuel filter may be clogged up. I think its along the frame rail on the passenger side, If you replace the fuel filter and it does it again, your fuel pump may be getting ready to go out. I suggest putting it on a computer scanner before you repair the fuel pump to save yourself some money..

Ask the dealer mechanic to replace the camshaft position sensor again. Remind them that just because it's new, doesn't mean it works.

They should also check the wiring from the ECM to the sensor for continuity, to ensure that the ECM is actually seeing a signal and it's not being shorted somewhere.

SOURCE: tcar runs good when running but stops and cant get

Check and make sure your temp sensor is working properly. Sometimes this will not allow the right information to get sent to your computer. You can test this with a multimeter if you don't want to risk spending money on a new sensor. You can usually see how to test this if you have a repair manual.

Why does my '02 taurus stutter or hesitate when i push the accelerator pedal hard while at 40-60 mph? could it be a clogged cat?

Any check engine light? Could be the cat. Also check the fuel filter. Have the computer scanned for codes.

Strange engine stuttering problem around 1500 to 1800 rpms.

YOU CAN TEST IT WITH A OHM"s meter or a multi meter one is your ground wire the other two send the signal to your computer.what you are looking for is when you rotate the throttle do it as slow as possible and as steady. If the reading jumps alot when you slowly rotate the throttle then it is a bad tps.let me know what the outcome is.Thank you for using fixya
