1997 Nissan Maxima rear speaker replacement: how do I get access to the rear deck speakers so that I can replace them? They seem to be screwed in from the top, rather than the bottom where I can get to them (from inside the trunk). Is there a way to lift off the rear deck panel? I tried to pry off the speaker grilles on top, but they seemed locked to the panel or otherwise unmovable. Thanks.

Actually, this car has security system that prevent the trunk opened without using the master key. I often use this to lock my trunk. Just slid up the tiny lever upward to allow the trunk open from inside. the lever is on the back trunk (in the center, behind the Tail light) where the trunk door hook up with the lock system.
Cheers..

Sounds as if you need the electrical portion of the ignition switch. The contacts inside are most likely worn out.

You need to remove all of the air intake and other things behind the battery. The start motor is held in with two bolts. You might need a breaker bar to break loose the one bold as I did. Once you remove all of the air intake equipment. This will help you gain access to the starter motor. You might not need to remove all the air intake equipment I know it made it alot easier for me to remove the starter and I took it to the auto store and had it tested.

2012 maxima rear speakers not working

Pull the unit out from the dash and check the wires first. Most aftermarket untils have a two pair of holes on either side, use nails to insert into the holes and press to release the unit after you get the fascia off. Check the wires carefully. Try taking one of the rear speakers out and plug the connectors from a door panel speaker on it to see if the speaker is good. If the speakers are bad, replace them. Crutchfield sells replacements you know will fit properly. Check the ground wires too!

2012 maxima rear speakers not working

Go to the dealer and have the unlock code reapplied. You are probably locked out, if you get no sound at all. If you get sound from some speakers, but not all... it's a wiring or blown speaker issue. Remove the unit from the dash and check the wires. If you suspect a blow speaker(s), remove one from the mounting location and move it to a known location where a speaker works and plug it in. Crutchfield makes replacements that fit your car in many price ranges.

How can i replace 1991 maxima radio system?

The original radio is a BOSE system and it has a buit in amp. So if you replaced the deck you need to replace the speakers all so. Don't cut the wires to hook-up the deck buy an addapter KIT. It's not just the stereo that runs though that harness the factory alarm does all so and that will cause you problems. Anyway back to the stereo you need to add an amplifier and problem sovled.

My right rear speaker is not working. How does one replace or even access the rear speakers in the 1986 camry? It seems that it requires full-on removal of the rear seat.

The speakers your referring to are in the deck above the rear seats next to the back window. You can gain access to them through the truck. Hope that helps..

Cant seem to axcess the rear speaker screws to replace them.

Are you looking from the trunk to the top of the rear deck? You are correct though in most factory installed audio systems, the size and quality of the speakers is unique and low quality. Generally any aftermarket speakers you buy will have to be bolted using holes that you drill in the deck. Also most car audio place will cut the deck with a saw in order to enlarge the holes for better sound. You may want to consider using POP rivets as fasteners for the new speakers because getting under the glass to use screws can be tough.
