You have a wiring issue. Look for melted or cracking insulation all around the engine harness and on the the pcm.

SOURCE: O2 sensor problem

I have a 97 gmc sierra .This truck is the same as the chevy ok.Its a 350 5.7 liter 4x4 Z71.I took it to auto zone which was my first mistake. They put it the scanner and said bad O2 sensor.Ok so which one is it i said. They dont know.Well there four (4) O2 sensors in this truck i hope you know that.I had to replace all four of them before i had to take it to a real shop.It seems the fuel pump i replaced a week earlier with an auto zone fuel pump was bad.Ive changed my feul pump 4 times now and have 235000 miles on still running. You need to get your fuel pressure checked. It should be 65 psi to start it and 55 psi to run it.If the pressures are good it could be a different O2 sensor or maybe the mass air flow senor. My last option would be the fuel pressure regulator because it seems to be a waste of time and money.I would get that fuel pressue checked first.Good luck.

SOURCE: 97 Chevy Tahoe, bought used, not sure type Trans, diagnostic code

Number 5 cylinder may have clogged fuel injector. O2 sensor can be replaced on exhaust pipe. EGR valve can also be replaced. good luck

SOURCE: multiple cylinder misfire detected

Thank you for all the information. I don't see how you made it worse unless the injectors were not installed correctly. If you remove them you are suppose to replace the o-ring on each of them and oil them (the o-rings) before installing them. I would check the air filter and the CAT (for excessive back pressure. Also check the rest of the exhaust for damage. If a pipe is kinked or flattened it would need repair. Also GM's are known for some issues with there e-vap systems. You may want to check it out. The gas cap, charcoal canister, vacuum lines. Well good luck.

CAR WAS NOT STARTING ALL THE TIME-CODE PO337. REPLACED CPS, CLEARED CODES, CAR DOES NOT START AT ALL. HELP

code p 0337 refers to crankshaft position(CKP) sensor ---low input====causes ---wiring short to ground--CKP sensor ---ECM
did you replace the correct sensor as it is the crank shaft sensor and not the cam shaft position sensor which would be a code p 0340 on wards

Are there any codes? When you say has problems running, can you be more specific? If it runs for awhile and shuts off, could be the CPS, if you replaced it with a cheap one, they fail. There should be a code if it's dying.

Hello! See diagram below of the location of Crankshaft Positioning Sensor (CPS)...It has a 3 wire connector with the following wire colors...Dark Blue/Dark Green (ground)...Dark Blue/White (signal lead)...And Pink/Yellow (+5 volts)...

Looking at the front of the engine...The left bank (front to rear) are 2, 4, 6, 8...
The right bank (front to rear) are 1, 3, 5, 7...Therefore the first cylinder on the right bank is # 1...The rear or last cylinder on the right bank is #7

96 Saab 900S SE Turbo won't start in the cold weather

You need to do four things:
Replace the plugs and make sure they are the correct ones gapped dead on to spec (1 mm). Use lots of silicone dielectric grease in the plug boots when reinstalling the DIC over the plugs.
Check the DIC
Check the CPS (crankshaft position sensor).
My money is on the CPS. The car may or may not start and run with a failing CPS (which is maintenance part, meaning it will fail over time). This, and the DIC, are known failure parts. The CPS is located on the right front lower corner of the engine block and secured with a single Torx screw (T27 or 30 IIRC).
Finally, the fuel pump may be on its way out, but I hope not as it is expensive to correct. They are good for 100,00 to 120,000 miles.
