Car starts great, drives great for 20 minutes then just shuts down. It will then not start, however, if you leave the vehicle for 30 minutes, it will then start and drive again for another 10 min...so one and so one.
we have a 99 sl2,one day we got gas and it stalled less then a block from the station, had it towed home. Now it runs 15 minutes and just shuts down like someone turns off the key, then if we wait 30-45 minutes it will start again, run another 15 minutes. and so on and so on. We have changed the fuel pump and the fuel filter but it still does the same thing. I'm at the end of my rope, the only code that comes up is p1599 but can not find any anwers. Cat. converter probably pluged. Mine did same today. Mechanic who tow my car said likely cause. I can hear fuel pump running, recent change fuel filter will check fuel pressure. But I will try emissionwiz fit too.

Turn the ignition switch to the on position( do not start) leave on for 20 minutes, turn it of, Repeat this tree times, the start the car and it should reset the factory security system that's enabled
A lot of GM cars can be overridden by leaving the ignition turned on for about 10-30 minutes. Be sure to connect a battery charger while doing this so that you do not run the battery down and defeat the purpose. If it does not work after leaving the key on (where the dash lights are on) for 10 minutes, disconnect the battery for a minute and try again for a full 30 minutes (or more). This normally works on the older GM vehicles like yours. Any battery interruptions after this will require you to do it again in the future. Email me if this works for your [email protected]
When your driving say about 20 or 30 minutes, the car, no matter what, just dies. If the engine cools down, it will start and run just fine, for about another 20 or so minutes, and same thing? Change the coil. its bad, it over heats, and pow. when it cools, works great. Had that happen to me. hope this is the problem
PASS LOCK RESET GM CARS 1999 UP 1) Put the key in the ignition and turn to the "ON" position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn the key and take it out. Repeat this process (2) more times (3 times, 30 minutes total) This should reset the passlock system to recognize your key
