If the compressor is working, a mechanic would check the low and high gauge pressure. The freon has to flow thru the system to work, and the cooling fan draws air thru the condenser to get rid of the heat from inside the car. If the ac clutch is working but the gauges show equal pressure, the compressor may be faulty.
spark plugs, wires, oxygen sensors, fuel filter, air filter, oil, oil filter and while your at it, ac filter. In AL it will run you about 200 done yourself.
did you open the hp swich located on the high pressure ac lin you have to open the hp swich w/a paperclip in the harnes to open the system to accept the freon your trying to put in open the circut then fill
they can be hot wired to test if its a switch or it could be the clutch to the compressor. have a freind turn it on and you look at the compressor see if the clutch inguages or not then get back to me and i can help you further.
that light goes on mostly likely cause you need freon. the compressor will not go on if there is no freon. buy a userfriendly can at autozone. put it in low pressure valve(blue) if it works but no cold enough air check under your hood for the proper pounds or ounces needed of freon. if it doesnt work its your compressor. GOOD LUCK! :)
