When we turn on our ignition in our 2001 XLE Camry Toyato, all the lights on the dash begin flashing and beeping...HELP!

Find the fuse and pull it. I'd recommend leaving them alone though bc they were designed like that for a reason.

Great news, your 1998 Toyota Camry Key Fob is self programmable. Below are the programming instructions. Be patient, it might take you a few times to get this right. It is all about timing.

Most remotes can be self-programmed. If this procedure does not work, you must have your remote programmed by a professional automotive locksmith or dealership.


Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle.
1. Insert key into ignition and turn ignition switch to ON position.

2. Locate the ECU (Engine Control Unit) and press and hold the ECU PROGRAMMING button for 3 seconds. The ECU will be located under one of the front two seats, the trunk, or under the dashboard on the drivers side. You will need a small pointy object like a pen to depress the ECU button. After pressing the ECU button for three seconds, you will see the STATUS MONITOR LED turn on for 5 seconds. Vehicle is now in programming mode.

3. Press and release the top button on the remote. The STATUS MONITOR LED will turn off. A chirp will be heard as well as one flash of the exterior lights.

4. Turn off the ignition. Programming is now complete, test remotes for proper programming.

use a code reader to reset the CPU that was corrupted from the battery change over.

I had the same problem today - called Toyota dealer and they said to turn on the ignition, press the red button (alarm indicator), then turn off ignition, turn ignition back on, and it should be set to off. I am going to try this evening to see if it actually works. Also, he said if you don't have the button on the dash to look near the kick plate for a toggle switch and follow the instructions the same.

Battery cables off the starter ,starter relay and ignition switch. these are the remaining items in the starting system for no crank and no start.
Get Shop manual and do the appropriate testing for each.

The cable broke on the window regulator. needs an other one.

if you disconnect the battery it will not hurt the car if you only disconnect the neg cable. by disconnecting the neg cable there is no way you can hurt the computer. good luck

I have similar issue with my 03 Camry XLE. I replaced the left side headlight bulb and the light still not coming on. Thanks in advance for the help.
