My information center (LED) in the center of the dash...cannot read half or more of the messages for adjustment of radio, A/C, etc., etc. I have heard, this is an on-going problem with 2005 Mazda 6s 6 spd. Mazda's in general. What if any....is an in-expensive fix that even I may be able to correct?? Is this a connection, wiring problem or does the LED panel have to be replaced?? Frustrated here..... Thx, in advance....TSTOCK.

SOURCE: 2005 MAZDA 6 BRAKE PADS

Since you are taking it back, have them check all the brake lines in front, and the wheel cylinder (if the back has drum breaks). Although you had only the front done, it's a good ideas to have them check the back brakes, and the master cylinder. Check your brake fluid before taking it back and make sure it's full, if so, you may just have air in the brake lines. If this is the case, either they forgot to bleed the brakes, or didn't bleed them enough.

2007 XL7. Why doesn't the information center work?

XL7 not XL-7 (the dash matters big time)
i'll guess its a dash.7
REDUX
in your post you said fuses are good (tested too)
have you checked and reseated the connectors on the OBJECTS that fail>?? (that is free to do)

we now learn many things fail on car,
even HEAD LIGHTS?????
and no statement of what works. in total!
does car drive perfect night and day?????
just a clue here, and win big. huh>?

I can't drive your car and see all those many things failing,& that are. ok .. and what does not fail....

but this car has CAN-bus (or the like)
a NETWORK for sure, and bus structured.

and does not work like some 1990 Vitara.
at all, not even close to same. (forget them...)
it's a BUS system.
each switch you throw sends a command on the bus.
it's failing I bet because of communication errors
that you fail to see because you did not use a real scan tool at the time of failure.
it must be scanned while failing !

cant fix it if its not broke,...(unless you drive
scan and log data. like i do all the time for all intermittent of any kind....)

does it fail engine running?
is running battery voltage at 13.3 to 15vdc
if voltage is low all computers in car will go nuts. (same with your cell phone)
this is a fact and what i check first?
valid battery voltages first.
2nd after fuses, (done already)
then scan it. using a real scan tool
not some relic.
a real tool can see all CAN buss errors
U codes top the list.

P1,p2, p3 and B codes too.... all seen.
failing.

you can buy tools
rent tools
or get the car scanned failing at any ASE shop.
car parts store may have junky or relic tools.
(i can name 10 that are)
some tools only do old federal P0xxx codes. say some old 1996 tool.

try a real shop and win. really

Get out of limp mode no codes

What make and model vehicle and year ? Any lights lit on dash , ETC , wrench light . any messages on driver information center , reduced power. does the vhicle have elctronic throttle control .Some automatic transmissons can have problems that cause a limp mode. Some modules set codes that you need a good scan tool to read them, not a cheap code reader. or do you just have a low power situation ? plugged catyalitic converter. maybe !

Half my dashboard is not working

Center console or drivers. It\'s most like driver and you simply have a burned out light. However replacing it is a pain in most cars. You usually can not just reach behind like with tail lights but have to remove the whole lower panel. It least it not a Prizm. To change it bulbs you have to remove the glove box console, then the drivers side console just to remove the center console. I gave up and used heavy duty Velcro to hold a cigarette lighter powered LED light above the radio to light up the center console. You might try something similar for you dashboard. Also, just make sure they are not turned down since their brightness is adjustable.

2003 Toyota 4runner: Half our dash does not light up. This is the portion that usually displays the temp setting in the car and usually lights up when the car starts - not just when the actual headlights...

My right side of this center dash window light that displays the temp.reading also went out on my 2003 4Runner. The letters & number were readable, but the back light was out to see everything at night. My mechanic said the bulb was out and he had to pull the section off surrounding the whole center dash portion that encompasses the radio, mileage, a/c & radio section. I left it up to them to do, since they said it would take an hour. Now the whole section lights w/o any problems.

I have a 2001 LS Lincoln. No owners manual. The dash has a couple of codes on an led type screen for "change AC filter" and "change oil" messages. I did the work but the messages still...

Look for the Information Center panel above the Audio controls.. There should be 4 buttons labeled Fuel, Setup, Reset, and Status. With the engine running, press the Status button until the change oil required message appears, then press and hold the reset button until the message appears that says oil life restored to 100%. Do the same for the a/c filter.

How do I remove the fan switch to replace it on the dash under the radio?

Have your radio code before you pull it out with the right radio tool. This pull would involve removing this parts.
  1. Glove compartment
  2. Driver side panel
  3. Center top dash board
  4. Defrost switch carrier
  5. Radio unit
  6. Center lower half of dash
So I'd suggest go to your local public library and look for your car manual. It would be either Chiltons or Clymers manual, it's not as precise a Bentley VW Official factory repair manual. Yes it really involves taking all those parts out just to get to the rotary switch.

The lights for the radio, climate, gauges, ect do not come on

Are you referring to the message center??? The message center is the CRT display in the center of the dash that controls your radio, A/C, heat, displays gauges, etc.

If that's not lighting up, you need to replace the unit. I have a spare one if you're interested. It's not perfect. The very bottom of the screen is starting to become very slightly distorted, but I will sell it very cheap. Just bought the entire interior from an '88 Reatta from a junkyard. Message center came with it. Let me know.
