My 2000 chevy venture just started this and I took it in to get looked at...it is the Pressure silnoid. And it happens when the van gets warm. The cost is up to $1200
Good morning, I am having a problem starting my 2000 chevy venture. I believe its the security system acting up, can anyone tell me how to reset the vechile's security system?
Start with brake in the rear that is the farthest away from the master cylinder ( if your master cylinder is on drivers side start with passenger rear, pump up brake pedal until hard have someone else open bleeder valve until air or fluid squirts out, while holding brake pressure even if goes to the floor dont release pedal until bleeder valve is tightened or you will **** air back into the line,do this several times making sure you get a full stream of brake fluid and no air, continue to other rear wheel and then proceed to front wheel furthest from master cylinderand then final wheel. if you still don't have brakes change master cylinder and bleed all brakes again.
Try turning the key to the on position without starting the vehicle and press your gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times within 10 seconds of turning the key to the on postion. If this doesn't work let me know and I'll have another solution.
Try replacing the throttle position sensor. I had the same problem in my truck. It would start and run for a bit but as soon as you let off of the pedal, it would die. Try it and see if it works.
Doesn't sound serious just need to WD40 and grease the throttle cable and mechanism. It'll also be good if you do the same at the pedal end, this will solve your proble.
Hope this helps and please don't forget to rate me on fixya.
