Where is the fuse for the cigarette lighter socket on vw passat 2006 The manual I have is incorrect

I found the fuse. There is one in the door for the front Lighter but the one for the rear lighter is under the dash with all the relays. You have to remove the bottom of the dash panel and the fuse is in the panel with the relays.

On my 2006 Passat it was drivers side #38 15a. Owners manual was completely incorrect and this fuse powered both front and rear plugins.

    i have an '06 Passat and am having trouble with the lighter. When I put the fuse in #38 on driver's side the fuse wiggles and is not really slide in. It is flush with the others, but wiggles from side to side. Any ideas? Thanks

For 1998 VW Passat V6 the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.
The cigarette lighter fuse for 1998 VW Passat V6 is placed in the fuse box / relay plate fascia 1, (driver's door open). See pictures below:

2006 VW Jetta 2.5, cigarette lighter does not work for charging (or at all). Fuse box is located under the hood. Which number fuse controls the cig lighter?

For 2006 VW Jetta 2.5, cigarette lighter fuse 20A (yellow) is placed in the fuse box on passenger's side. See picture below:

Yes, could be cigarette lighter fuse blowed. Check fuse no.# 42 - F42 (20A) = cigarette lighter, 12 Volts. See picture below:

possibly. Or it may be burtn out from extensive use. consult your manual for fuse terminal location.

POSSIBLY BURNT OUT OR INCORRECT BULB
COULD BE EMER FLASHER SWITCH IN DASH WHICH HAS T/S FLASHER BUILT IN
LIGHTER COULD BE FUSE OR SHORTED SOCKET
