Just got the easiest fix...Take off radiator hose, let pressure out of line and re-attach...Took care of my problem...My next step would have been to replace thermostat...

When replacing coolant, did you bleed the air from system! you can remove radiator or overflow cap when cold. start vehicle and let it run until thermostat opens, when all air is out hoses should get hot. but before starting, turn heater on to high setting, if you vehicle does not have a air bleeder on it. do as above. just be sure radiator is full of coolant. after hoses get hot, turn off heater, then put cap back on radiator or overflow. good-day! the first thing to do is to check for a stuck closed thermostat. do this first ok!

Did you open the hood? It could be a popped serpentine belt or a broken timing chain or timing belt.

Belt won't stay on, 1989 gmc 3/4 ton pickup

Not having the tensioner pulley lined up would do it.
All of the pulleys have to be in a straight line and the tensioner has to keep the belt tight, especially with extra load from one of the accessories.

2004 sierra overheating

Three additional things that can cause overheating - a restricted exhaust system, a weak fan clutch, and restrictions in the cooling system in the block or hoses. Any chance you might have air in the cooling system ?

Why is my serpentine belt shredding on my 1989 gmc sierra c2500

Mine was doing the same thing. I realized that one of the support brackets for the power steering pump was brocken allowing the pump to pull slightly away from the engine moving the belt out enough to be cut by the other pullies. I hope this helps! Good luck!

There is a light mist of water spraying up around the serpentine belt and the power steering. Car was overheating with not heater working. Now not overheating (after radator leak stop) but spraying water...

still leaking.. it sound like a hose has a hole in it. i dont think stop leak will fix it. look for where it is coming from and replace it. if it is spraying near the serpentine belt it is probaly the water pump. or a hose connecting to it.
