1999 Saturn SL2 DOHC Engine - Fuel pump not pumping fuel.

Got into my Saturn SL2 and it would not crank. No fuel was being pumped by the fuel pump (180,000 miles - original fuel pump). Checked fuses -- ok, replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. Fuel pump is still not pumping fuel.

My 2001 Saturn SL1 would not start after driving it all morning. Parked in front of my house, went back out 10 minutes later and the key would not go in the ignition. Mechanic said the ignition was locked and it was better to replace but it was better to replace entire column. After replacing column, car would not start. He first thought the gas line might be frozen. Added 2 bottles of Heet and several gallons of gas. Still car did not start. Now he says it is the fuel pump. He also checked the fuses. Any clues?

The Saturn Fuel pump relay and fuse is located undar the panes on the passenger side of the center console near the passengers left foot there are two relays there that look identical one is fuel pump relay. Just switch them around they are bot the same and see if the fuel pump runs now also the fuel pump fuse is in there i can't send diaagrams on fixya because their program will not let them go through if you need one email me at [email protected] Please give me a fixya rating if this information is helpful to you

Have a saturn sl2 98 that will drive for about 1 to 2 miles and turn off

Does it crank and not start after that? If so it is your fuel pump. That year model was known to have some fuel pump issues. Also the crankshaft position sensor can cause this same problem. If the rpm gauge goes erratic when it is turning off it is most likely the crank sensor.

Did you listen to see if the pump is actually pumping. You should here the pump on initial turn of the key.Have someone turn the key and listen for the pump to come on.If the fuse blew for the fuel pump its very possible that the pump is bad or a ground wire is loose. But it sounds like your pump is bad.

My 1999 Saturn SL2 started theother day but a few

This is probably a faulty fuel pressure regulator. You can rent a tool at most auto part stores that connects to the fuel rail to show you the pressure level. If it is low (less than @40 PSI) or if it fluctuates very much, replace the regulator. It is also a good idea to replace the fuel filter, as it can clog and prevent adequate fuel supply from reaching the engine. You may want to replace the filter first, as it is usually cheaper.

My 2000 Saturn sl2 will turn over, but not crank up. could it be the fuel pump?

It could and probably is the fuel pump or filter if it sounds like it's cranking normally but not starting. Hope it helps.

94 Saturn sl2 won't start

try getting a small bucket and pulling off the fuel line that runs to the engine and have some one crank the car over and give it fuel to see if anything come out of the fuel line. if it doesnt then eaither a line is blocked or the pump is not working.
