Does this alternator warning lights should always comes out regularly when the ignition is switched on and go out when the engine started? Does this scenario shows that when the ignition is on the battery is not charging (alternator warning lights is on) and when the engine started the battery is charging (alternator warning lights is off)? Your immediate response is highly appreciated. Thanks.. my car is 1998 Daewoo Espero (it's not on the list that's why I choose other model to post my question. Thanks

I can't say 100%, but as far as I know, there are a number of lights that come on when starting a car. The alternator light is one of them. Is it possible that you never noticed it before? On my car, the check engine light comes on, the engine trouble light comes on, the seat belt light comes on, the air bag light comes on, the abs brakes light comes on and there are probably others.
I think what you are seeing is normal.
Do you have any problems? Is the battery dying? Is the car stalling? If not, you are probably OK.

How can I fix kill switch circuit to stop engine

Most engines do not have a kill switch circuit. What are you working on? Alternator light on may mean bad diodes such that current is back-flowing to ignition.

Why does the Engine Warning light come up but other warning lights like battery, oil pressure etc.don't show up in ignition mode & the car doesn't start?

Sounds like a wire was not re-installed under the hood. When the alternator or battery were replaced, there are several power wires under the hood that attach to the same power terminal. Look for a RED wire with a large round connector, that is just hanging out in the open air. You need to install it back onto the post that it came off of. good luck.

Check charging system light came on

hi, the alternator has a wire from ignition to the alternator called the W L lamp. if this comes up the most common fault is the diode pack or comutator brushes. alternator not charging enough or WARNING LIGHT wire grounding to body of the car. some times the WARNING LIGHT wil be very dim all these usually means your alternator will need replacing. gerry

Seek a advise for undervoltage/alternator or battery

measure the battery when the car is off, it should read just a little over 12V. With the car running, measure the battery again and it should read between 13V-14V+-.2V.... odds are the voltage is below 13V if that's the warning you get and the alternator is not charging properly

Battery lamp and oil lamp

It sounds like your alternator may be trying to go out. If the alternator goes bad, all kinds of lights will come on. Can't promise that is the problem, but it's something to have checked. I hope this helps you. Please leave a good rating.

Alternator no-charge situation

Hi,

The idiot light is just warning you. A bright/normal light indicates charging system is not working at all like when engine is off or fanbelt is cut. On the otherhand, a dim idiot light indicates that the output of the charging system is below expected value, it is not enough to charge fully the battery. This could either be the regulator or the alternator. Often the regulator is replaced with an entire sub-assembly and no repairs. The alternator could either be any of the diodes (very often) or the windings (seldom). A fault on any of the aforementioned could and would cause the dim warning light.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
