Any lights on on the dash? if trans slipping either internal problem or slim chance electrical failure. which gear slips or is it all the time? if only one gear or at times failure in the clutch assy. if all the time indicates low working pressure, maybe bad EPC.

Tansmission slips

When you say the trans fluid is fine, is it a clear reddish color? does it smell burnt? also does your check engine light come on at all? how many miles are on the car? GM usually recommends a trans fluid flush at 100k miles under normal driving conditions and at 60k miles under more severe driving conditions. it sounds like there may be an internal problem with the bands or the pressure may be low. I would recommend taking the car to GM dealer for a better diagnosis as it sounds like it will continue to slip when it gets to normal operating temperature and it will get worse in the future. another option is to add 2 bottles of Lucas trans fix (48 ounces total) to the trans fluid but you will need to pump out that much fluid if the trans fluid is already full so you don't over fill it. the lucas trans fluid additive does work pretty good unless their is serious internal damage already done. Good luck!

Transmission fluid

You change transmission fluid every 3 years

While 90k is only 54,000 miles, ten years is how
old my lincoln is & I changed mine 3 times & it should
have been 4 times

You go by years, not miles anymore

Time used is heat cycles & the fluid will only last
for 3 years including 2 hot summers ,then it won't
remove heat & you trans clutches fail

You have to use the NEW Matic S from a nissan dealer,
as no other fluid is correct for your jatco trans at this point
in time

You add one ten oz bottle of red Lubegard to ALL your vehicles
transmissions with every change

You DO NOT FLUSH a trans as the fine debrib could get
into the solenoids

You have to add a return line filter at the cooler in front of the radiator, because your trans has NO Filter, only a screen bolted to the valve body

Same trans as my 3 week old 2014 Frontier

What you read was IF it was slipping & you change the fluid
it will slip worse,in that case the damage was done already

Ten years is a death sentence to any trans
Change it anyway, not many miles on it

Don't change it if you got shifting problems you don't want
to discuss here & that is why your here

You remove the pan on the bottom of the trans
Wipe it out, clean the magnet & you should have a
fill tube & stick next to the motor to add the MATIC S
Fluid

The return line filter will be your ONLY protection for that
Nissan trans, as a screen is not going to stop anything micro
scopic particles ,nor will a regular filter on most transmissions

You get a Filtran Magnetic Return Line Filter & install
that on the line that goes from the surface to air cooler to the
trans case

The other line you can see goes to the radiator first, then to the
out front cooler, that is the hot oil pressure feed, your putting
you little round filter in the other return line

You can put one of them on the power steering also or change
a steering rack when it fails
Have to do that or new racks are not warranteed

I have a 05 Chevy Malibu Maxx. In aug of 09 we had a rebult tranny put in it. I have put 28,000 miles on it since then and now my mechanice is telling me the up down switch in the tranny is bad? The first...

The reason the first one went only 120,000 miles,
was because, I would guess you never changed
your trans fluid every 30,000 miles.

The current one may have a 50/50 chance, if you change
the correct solenoids or whatever is necessary to save it

Don't use any vehicle with any trans issues, until resolved

( I once owned a trans repair business)

Verona suzuki 2005 lost power up steep hill lights on just died on me and could only get it in reverse would not go in any other gear problem came out of the blue check engine came on 2 sec before car...

A 5 year old vehicle with only 50k miles? A typical vehicle gets driven 20k a year, possible but doesn't sound right. I would look at transmission and Torque converter inside transmission.

I have a ford focus 2005 96000 miles. It slips from first to second and then it jerks back into 2nd and also the transmission light is on. I cant afford a new transmission. what should i do?

Park it.
Most likely the trans is in need of being rebuilt.
Most people never change trans fluid, and you end up with what you have.
Changing fluid now, won't repair anything,so forget that.
Don't install a used trans either, that's some elses bad trans, like yours.

How do you reset service engine light on infiniti g35 2003

disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for 10 minutes. youll also loose all your trans adaptive memory and the car will drive funny for about 10 miles before it relearns what it lost.

Where is the battery? Transmission light, and it is slipping

it wouldn't surprise me if the battery is located in the trunk... as for the transmission... lucas makes a "thickener" for the transmission fluid. i have used it and gotten another 30,000 out of my transmission when it was having problems.
