If the fuse is getting hot, you most likely have a bad connection in the fuse block. It will be necessary to repar the connection so it makes good, solid contact with the fuse. There are fuse block repair kits available through most AC Delco parts suppliers or at the local GM dealership.
TRY LOCKING DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR MANUALLY THEN UNLOCK THE PASSENGER SIDE FIRST THEN THE DRIVER DOOR IF IT IS THE SECURITY THIS WILL RESET IT AND RECONIZE THE KEY.
Im pretty knowledgable in the whole SECURITY light issue... I dont think this could cause the door lock to not work correctly, but anything is possible. Newer cars are wound up pretty tight. Here is a link to help understand how the security works. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
I'd go ahead and do a "security relearn" on you car. It might help if that is what caused the door issue.
Turn the key forward 2 clicks till right before it would normally start, leave like that for 10 minutes. ( no less ) Turn back your key to regular position and check the door lock. May have to do this process 3x
The stereo
has "TheftLock". If the power is disconnected from the stereo, it will
not turn back on without first inputting the four digit security code.
This renders the stereo useless if someone steals it from your car. If
you've never set a code, the factory default code will be listed in the
owner's manual. If you do not have one, call your local dealer for the
default code.
www.DelcoLockCode.com will get you your unlock code for you. It's only $5 so it's better than going to the dealership.
you need the unlock code from the manufacturer. I had a radio lock up but the company had me send it to them for them to unlock. i had to prove that i bought it and it was not stolen.
Your vehicle has 2 ignition wires that you can put back to factory, and start the vehicle. The wires you are looking to put back together are PINK and DARK GREEN - and found under the D/S dash. (ignition harness - right side of steering column) They will be larger in Diameter than the others. They were cut to install the security system. They go into the "brain" and out the other side. A relay inside the BRAIN is most likely failing. If you no longer want the alarm installed, simply match up all of the factory colors. Use crimp-on but t-connectors for secure connection.
