Location of 1972 corvette voltage regulator in car

under center console in front of shifter

Should be 3 belts

If the battery is no good,then you will hear the alternator
hum all the time, trying to charge it

Check for diode problems & A/C Ripple on the circuit

Check all vehicle grounds (wires)

If the wiring is good & the light comes on, it isn't charging
properly,have you not metered that,voltage,amperage &
ripple

You can go through 3 alternators from the auto part chains, to
find a good one.

The actuator diaphram may be bad or the actuator may be frozen in place.

the higher the octane the better and cooler that engine will run
but it comes at a cost

you can go to the libeary and borrow a book for your car .check for the wire diag.

Well, short of the gauge being defective, there might me a voltage regulator on the back of the instrument panel causing your issue.

passenger side near the back of the engine.it bolts to the transmission housing.the bolts go up into the the transmision housing.

Not sure about the wiper issue but I'd ask him to see what he know or suspects is the problem. Body mount cushons can be found at most Corvette parts places (Mid America Corvette, Ecklers, ect...) I think there are 8 total..but that is a guess
