How do i turn on high beams on a 1986 jaguar xj6

1985 jaguar xj6 4.2 L Series 3
Firing Order 1-5-3-6-2-4
# 1 Spark plug at the last cylinder next to the firewall .
# 6 Spark plug at the front of th Engine nearest the fan .

The Rotation of the Rotor within the distributor cap is " Counter Clockwise

The Vacuun Advance Diaghram ( metal ) is more in line with the # 3 Spark plug wire .

Looking from the top near the Passenger side fender . If we know that the Number 3 Plug is more inline with the vacuum advance then moving " clockwise the next plug would be the # 5 and after that would be the # 1 plug

This shold get you on your way providing that nothing else has been tampered with . I hope that this has been helpful to you .

SOURCE: Starts but will not turn over

check the wires on the coil, try switching them, i had this exact problem. the wires were on correct as of the diagram but they were actually backwards. its an easy fix if that is the problem, the coin is right on top the engine.
