Renault technical problems

Faults like this can rarely be solved in this manner as there are many things it could be, plus you need specialised diagnostic equipment. Take it to a renault repairer and get them to look at it.

Evry time i come to a junction my car just cuts out nd the revs go up and down up and down on tick over so when i change gear the revs stay on for about 3 to 4 seconds then drop

Very common fault - idle air valve. There are two types, a 2 bolt or 3 bolt fixing. If you are in the UK give me your registration number and I will give you the part number.

Revs drop coming to standstill

Here is the cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

I am currently experiencing engine idle problems, i have recently purchased the vehicle and the engine has been fine until now. When i stop at junctions and the engine is idleing it seems to now and again...

You need to replace your IAC (idle air control valve). The IAC, like it sounds, control the idle of your car. When they go bad they will cause the low idle and stalling. The IAC is located on the throttle body and is usually held on with a couple of screws. It is an easy relatively cheap fix that you can take care of by yourself. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!
