HI, I have an Audi A3. All 3 brake lights stay on even when the key is out of the ignition. I have checked all the fuses, and replaced the bulbs as well as a new brake switch from the main dealers but still has solved the problem..

the dealer can fix this or any mechanic with a vag com interface, basically its a matter of programing the tailgate lights (both of them) to work as brake lights. the euro speck enables one of the other or both, same goes for the backup light. if you had a module replaced recently this could be the reason for the change, whoever installed it should be able to rectify this for you.

The bulbs are changed from the rear. There might be a weather cover, once its removed you will see a ring or clip holding in the bulb , remove that to remove the bulb. Install in reverse order. And a little known fact most parts stores will install bulbs for free when you buy them.

have you checked the brake lights for operation ?
if they don't work than it is your brake light switch located on the pedal support bracket.

Have you verified that the power steering fluid is at the right level? If it isn't, you need to fill it to the proper level using specific Audi power steering fluid (it's a mineral-oil-like fluid, NOT the stuff you buy at the parts store). If you've run the reservoir dry and kept driving, it's likely you've burned out the pump and will have to replace it.
