The battery light came on while driving, the car started to show the signs that my batter was dying. Cd player stopped, windows wouldn't roll up or down, clock went out. The engine light came on soon after and while I was driving, if I let of the gas very softly, the car would 'studder' and jump, but would act fine if pressed on the gas. I came to a stop light, while sitting the car just softly died. I checked the battery and there was acid leaking out. I cleaned the acid off and the car started right up. I drove a little ways down the road, came to another stop light and the car died. Had to jump it to get it started. i kept gas going while stopped and the car didn't die. I let the car sit over night and then started it in the morning, and it started right uip. but i'm afraid of driving it. Can anyone help me at all?

it appears you have electronic throttle control. any applicable trouble codes, relating to that system? clean the throttle bore and around throttle plate, don't force the throttle plate. your idle air is electronically controlled.
Crank position sensor when this sensor fails the fuel pump will not turn on,and yes it stall out anywhere,and when it cools off it allows you to start up easily,it is located on the crankcase,above the starter
Depending on the trouble codes, it may be the ECM. (computer) You can have the car scanned for codes or attempt it yourself. The "set timing mode" is the section of the computer program that you access to change the base timing. It should not show up on the display unless you access it.
my monterosport 2001 runs great till you come to a stop sign the rpms drop and it dies start it back up revs itself and rpms drop and it dies. we can start it up rev it and it clearsup and idles but later on when you come to a stop it dies again we have cleaned the egr valave and still same thing could the tps be the problem or what?
The battery is only use to start the car, once the car is moving the alternator takes over and charges the battery. I sounds like the alternator is bad. You take the alternator to Napa, Auto Zone or Advance auto part and have them check it for you.
