I understand these cars have a sealed clutch system. When they fail you replace the whole kit master, hydrolic pipe and slave (comes in one piece). Search on ebay maybe £45 or so.

What is the cause of the push rod that is bend on the clutch master cylinder after skimmed the flywheel and replacing the clutch tried everything on a 1999 daewoo nubira please help thank you

Sounds like the clutch slave cylinder- if the rod is bent that's a huge issue and must be replaced, if this is so you'll need a new clutch slave cylinder.

Have changed clutch and master and slave cylinders on my freelander 1.8 and still cannot get it in gear. Any suggestions please

You might have bent the drive plate when putting the gearbox back in! You can not let any weight of the gearbox hang on the plate when putting it back in it will bend the plate only other thing could be air in the line incorrect adjustment ,wrong size cyl.or if the push rod is non-adjustable put a longer adjustable rod into try.

How do I adjust the clutch rod for travel/play?

most modern cars do not have an adjustment on the clutch slave cylinder push rod
it relies on the system being in good condition and the fingers of the pressure plate push the throw out bearing back and that pushes the slave cylinder back in far enough
If the push rod is under tension then there is a problem in the compensating port of the clutch master cylinder and the fix for that is a new master cylinder.

Grand am clutch pedal

try opening the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder so that you are not trying to press against the pressure plate when you push the rod into the master cylinder.

Hi I changed my gearbox on my 54 plate zafira 2.0 dti put a new slave cylinder in but it pop straight away do I need the fly wheel for that gearbox Many thanks john

If by pop you mean that the slave cylinder piston came out of the cylinder then I would fix that by installing a longer push rod to take up the extra length required by the slave cylinder being too far away from the clutch throw out lever (or relocate the cylinder closer to the arm. The length would be about 1/4" shorter than when the piston is fully bottomed out and that will give you a bit of free play and not let the clutch slip. Keep the fly wheel in mind but as long as the throw out bearing stays on the clutch input shaft housing then the flywheel would not solve much

I have a 97 jeep wrangler. the slave cylinder came apart. the push rod came right out of the cylinder. does this mean my clutch is warn causing the rod to exceed out of the cylinder?

Hello, the answer is not necessarily, you have some other problem, was the bolts that hold the slave cylinder in place still intact, if yes than it is more than likely that the fork that the slave cylinder rod sits against (goes into the gearbox) is either worn, bent or broken or even the slave cylinder rod itself (unlikely). That fork pushes a bearing (thrust bearing) against the pressure plate in the front of your gearbox which engages and disengages your clutch plate, if that thrust bearing has come off by wear on the fork than it is also possible.

Fork engaging slave cylinder from tranny. (91 3000GT, mitsu)

Called a clutch fork Holds the thrust bearing right? and goes through the clutch (Bell) housing Got to be careful here or Is it the rod that goes directly into the slave cylinder? Either way as long as the rest of the cars ok it's worth keeping If it's the clutch fork you going to have to remove gearbox (Not the end of the world) Part won't be that expensive

After replacing starter and removing slave cylinder, clutch fails to work

sounds like you have a air pocket or you fail to engage the slave cylinder push rod If you disconnected the slave cylinder from the hose proceed to bleed out the slave cylinder if you didn't take you slave cylinder and whit out disconnecting the hose and make sure the push rod is against the clutch push arm.
