Pickup 305 a misfire in # 2 cylinder i changed the plug,wires distributor cap and rotor and coil
Hi there, if you can feel the misfire at an idle but not at a higher rpm than the fuel pressure regulator is bad im working on one right now that has mifire code and random misfire codes coming up
The poppet valves foul on dirty fuel easily. This was a common problem amongst the first Vortec engines 1996-1997 maybe some later. You can have them cleaned but the cost of the MFI replacement GM produced ia almost as cheap and works a lot better

Ok ill add to this question I have a missfire code on cylnder 5 and it only happens once in a while like we are talking once for five minites at say 200 miles into a trip . I purchased a analyzer and got the DTS code of misfire three times . Would this be a connection of some kind?
I put my 1998 GMC C1500 P/U into a hard acceleration situation, and the "idiot light" came on. I continue to drive the P/U and eventually the light went away. I have noticed that the engine seems to run a little knocky at idle but nothing that you wouldn't expect from a 98. Higher rpm no problem, no loss of power. what's up with my truck
