Check VSC is on with a Red Triangle on dash and electronic displays on dashboard,like trac skid and engine light is on after starting . Car has about 110,00 miles. Always changed the oil as scheduled and had the transmission serviced at one time as scheduled.

A speed sensor failure in the rear axel housing has damaged friction plates in the differential (limited slip). This axel should have had oil serviced at 80,000 miles

VSC is vehicle stability/skid control. Find the button that turns it off and on. Push the button to turn it on and the light should go off. Most cases systems like these will have a light stay on any time they are turned off. If the vehicle is a 96' or newer call around to your local auto parts stores and you should find one that will scan your vehicle for free and tell you why the check engine light is on. If the two problems are related the scan should tell you what part of the VSC is malfunctioning.

Probably a sensor is getting wet, triggering the ECU with the wrong information, therefor turning on some of the dashboard lights on.
Sometimes, a little bit of grease on the sensor keep the sensor from getting wet. If there is no light on in the dashboard when its dry, then that's your problem.

when i bought my car TOYOTA AVENSIS CDX (2002) had no lights on the dashboard, when i cleaned the engine (carefuly with out pouring much water on it, when i started the engine, 2 sets of lights came-on VSC TRC OFF & The one in ingine shape!

For some reason on Toyota and some Lexus vehicles certain check engine light CEL issues also result in the ECU lighting up the vsc trac and vsc off lights. The ECU actually switches these anti skid and anti lock brake systems off and the lights are to remind you that they are disabled. 1) Check that the fuel cap is on securely 2) Check the oxygen sensors on the exhaust, check that connections are clean and there are no missing wires. 3) Have someone check the on-board diagnostic codes if the CEL is still on

Battery was diconnected for 1 minute and then reconnected. All lights are off.

On a Prius, when the check engine light comes on it indicates a malfunction in the powertrain control system. You need to have the car scanned for codes to see where the fault lies. The red triangle lights because the check engine light is on. The VSC is disabled when the check engine light is on and that light comes on.
Start with having the car scanned.

2003 Toyota 4Runner - just noticed the Check engine light was on flowed by the VSC TRAC and TRAC OFF lights stay. Any Solutions?
