I have a 96 LS400 sometimes the radio works but I cant figure if it is the wiring it appears is has not been messed with. when you mash the on button on the radio it always comes on (lights up) antenna comes up part of the display in missing although if you scan or preselect you will see the stero light come on sometime this leads me to belive the receiver is working. no sound. but if it ever comes on it has normal sound cd player works. volume is good. I took the radio out could not find anything loose took passenger seat out unpluged amp repluged. nothing changed.
I dont mind getting a amp or radio. but just cant figure it would be either one.

Newer cars come with a switches that delays their shut down of certain lights on the car. Sometime they allow you to get inside your home before the turn off but sometimes the switches malfunction and you light never turns off. I have had this happen on my 2006 vehicle several times in the past. Maybe these kind of switches one day will get a little better. Until then, you can ignore it or pay the big bucks and have a technitian repair it..

The Nakamichi radio in the 1998 Lexus LS400 is turned on by pressing the large round button on the radio in. This same button also controls the volume by turning it clockwise or anticlockwise. The radio will use the same audio input that it used when it was turned off. The input can be changed using the series of buttons on the right side of the radio, tape, cd, fm, am.
Can you turn on the lights with the Interior light switch?. If a light works, obviously the fuse is good. You will need a wiring diagram and a test light to figure out where to start.
you need to use the right adapter for your car and that radio. you don't want to mess with the wires. get the right adapter and avoid damage to the radio and/or the speakers or maybe a car fire
