Yesterday morning, car at NOT, sitting at light, oil light came on. Went off once I took off at the light, next light same thing. Stopped, checked oil level, full, Started truck and continued 3 miles to work, light did not come on again. Leaving work, oil light came on half way home, drove slow 4 miles to house. Engine runs fine. Started the truck today, ran for 10 minutes, no light. Truck is 2001 Ford Escape has 76K miles, oil changed regularly. What is causing the oil light to come on intermittently?

Try taking off the gas cap and putting it on again. My car did the same and that was the problem.

Engine failure

When a catalytic converter is coming apart on the inside, it can restrict air flow and power, and it usually happens or gets worse when the vehicle has been running long enough to generate a lot of heat. Once it cools down, the symptoms can completely go away until you begin to drive it again. It's one possibility.

Weird problem just started. Noticed the other day when I turned off the car, the fan continued to run for about another minute. Then, this morning, I was sitting in the car with it running and...

the first thing to try is turning the heater upto full heat(a/c off)if the temp guage goes down THEN CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT...(hot oil,if too hot, is thinner than the normal sae rating so the oil pressure will be lower.otherwise no real problem.

2006 Saturn Relay Check Engine Light

PO455 is a large evaporative fuel leak. A bad fuel cap is ONE of the things that COULD be the problem. Fuel system cleaning only lightened your wallet. Reading your post is confusing. Did all this start AFTER the Valvoline Wallet Flushing? If so , they left something loose or disconnected. I would find a qualified repair shop to fix the problem, and if it has anything to do with what Valvoline did, make them pay the bill.

Oil pressure light comes on after driving on highway for 10 miles

Sounds like your sending unit sensor - if it was your pump going out, your engine would be history by now. Rule of thumb, if your oil check light ever comes on, it's usually too late to remedy the problem. You have a major issue, but since you've obviousely drove it quite a bit since then and it still hasn't seized up, I'm guessing you're ok...for now. Since you took it to a shop and they said you're ok, I'm assuming they checked your level and visually checked for leaks and found nothing. Either, you've got somethijng partially blocking your pick-up tube for the pump which is in your oil pan, or a electrical issue with the sensor. I would start by having someone check the sensor out and go from there...good luck.

Tapping in engine

it sounds like the oil pressure is too high.have someone check for clogged blow-by hoses or connections.some blow-by connections have screens in them tha can become clogged with dust or oil deposits.also check for places where dust can enter into the engine, such as,air filters and air hoses that may be loose or damaged.
