5 weeks after purchase ( 110K miles ) on & off runs like 3 or 2 clys - code - Crank sensor circuit A - 8 weeks later -instal OEM crank sensor very small change - then install OEM cam sensor . now cranks a Long time and will eventually start - battery finally gets to low - Now new battery - wont start at all - re-install 2 old sensors -starts right up .BUT after 1-2 or 32 miles on & off from smooth 4 cyl. to rough like 3 -cyl -just like flips a switch ; normally runs smooth cold & at times will switch from rough to smooth in just seconds -or last hours . I am a old smart Mechanic .and hope someone out there is much smarter --PLEASE try to help me
And YOU took much to long to answer --BUT thanks for your attempt -
Does the check engine light flash or is it on when the car misfires?? Bythe way, Nissan has a new program available for your ECM/computer for the long cranking condition. Check with your local NIssan dealer. Also spark plugs are rated for 105K, You have 110K on it. Check your plugs and make sure, that you use NGK if they need to be replaced. Also, look at your overflow bottle. If its down, top it off to FULL mark and monitor the level for few days. See if it goes down in like a week. I have seen some headgasket problems, where the coolant gets into the cylinders and drown the spark plug, causing a misfire. Let me know what you find. Lets get to the bottom of this and lets fix it.
WOW, I don't think that there is a need for that kind of reply. People are trying to HELP YOU and its not that easy, when you can't actually look at the car your self to see what is going on and are trying to fix it over the computer.I can give you tips and pointers, but that doesn't mean that it will solve the problem. I was going to suggest to you to swap coils from one hole to another to see if the misfire moves to another cylinder, but you are TOO SMART for that. Anyways, NO MORE HELP FROM ME. EVER.

check engine light does blink most time when engine is missing - i did inspect all plugs -it appears they have been replaced but i will say some time ago ( because of the gap ) - NO evidence of any coolent seepage or ( headgasket ) problem . i am ASE Master and it feels exactly like someone is removing one plug wire and at times 2 wires normally i can get 2 - 4 miles but at times 5 - 15 and or a rare ocassion it will just restore to running smooth ( on all 4 clys ) but never lasts lomg why will old sensors allow it to start easy and new OEM sensors cause it to almost not start ? i just might go install 4 mew plugs but dont believe it will fix this problem -- HELP me
to ALL you stupid idiots _ that could not give me the correct advise - i did diag. & fix it myself . it did have one interm. coil . i guess i am STILL smarter than most ( maybe all ) i did grad # 1 way back in 1969 and knew all along no other person could be as smart as me . all you other should hang your heads in shame
