IS THERE ANY PRONOUNCED DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NISSAN TD27 ENGINE BLOCK WITH TURBO AND NON TURBO?

I am not familliar with that exact engine, but the turbo motor usually has an extra hole for the turbo return. Everything else is usually a bolt on that can be transferred.

My toyota 3C turbo diesel engine the turbo compressor is flooding of oil . I can.t trace where it is coming from That is why I am searching service manual for this turbo charger. 12ct

Hi,

If your turbo housing is getting flooded with oil the it can only come from the shaft seal on the inside of the turbo.

You will need to remove it and replace the shaft seal.

Car smoke white when idle and nothing when driving

Engine also smokes when car driving if turbocharger still faulty. Did you change the engine timing belt (the timing belt kit) meantime? What about engine oil consumption? When engine glow plugs (one or more) burnt then engine exhausts white smoke at idling. Also white smoke at engine idling when water is still present in diesel fuel.

I want to add TURBO to my 1996 Golf III Diesel, and need to know what to change/add. Thanks.

well i have never done it myself. but its going to be alot of hassle.
its not the same as sticking a turbo on a petrol

1 you need a manifold which will suit it
2 for best results you need an exhaust to match
3 you will need to replace the fuel pump. to match the size of your engine (preffrably take the turbo and the fuelpump from the turbo version.
4just as well stick a new timing belt on while the fuel pump is off
then you need to tap into the oil as turbos need a constant oil feed. and that might require drilling and tapping into the block.

this is only an educated guess but im sure its pretty standard in fitting a turbo to a non turbo viehical.

Diesel pump timing

Well you are adventurous.

Do you think you are close to the original timing? Or could you be teeth off in the drive belt or chain?

You can time the vehicle by ear, just turn a little at a time until it sounds like it used to.

I recomend that you get a factory shop manual for the car and follow their detailed instructions on setting the timing.

Good Luck
