When turning on the air there is a thump (not always). The other night turned the air on and there was a squealing sound then the card died. This has not happened since. Air is not getting cold. I've been told it could be the supine belt or the compressor is going bad.

same problem...not an a/c issue. When the fan is on and when you turn left.sounds like something rubbing in the blower. took the blower off, no obvious blockage.

The a/c compressor clutch might have locked up it should be free spinning when not engaged but could cause a belt to squeal and possiblly break if locked up

Try spraying some "anti-squeal" (in an aerosol from any parts supply shop) onto the serpentine belt. If the noise stops you have identified the source. Also lube the spring-loaded device that tensions the belt.

It sounds to me like its a loose compressor belt that gets hot and stops, have it tightened or replaced if its old and brittle. could also be the compressor going bad,

have the belts tightened or replaced as they are slipping on the pulleys by the sound of it

The thumping sound like the U-joints in the front wheels are bad. If the brakes lock with ABS sytem, then one or more wheel sensors are probably bad. As for the RPM's, one of the intake air sensors may be bad, either the IAT or MASS sensor. Hope this helps

check vent line from tank to fuel filter or canister or gas line , get air compresser and blow both lines out towards gas tank having one personstand by tank with gas cap off listening for thump sound or gushing air
